Belted Galloway Beef
Commercial beef breeds of today are large lean continental cattle which may be reared indoors for a large part of their lives and are fed on cereal based rations with additives. They reach maturity much earlier than the native breeds but in doing so lose the great taste which the slow growing grass fed natives have in abundance.
Modern commercially reared beef is pale in colour, leaner and has little if any marbling and much less flavour and lower levels of Omega 3 than slow maturing belties (30-36 months), our herd is raised on a bio-diverse grazing meadows with no concentrates, to produce a fine grained beef of an excellent quality, taste and tenderness.
The beef is dry hung for 21-28 days for a fine flavour.
