Belties in Izzi Raineys “Over The Farm Gate” Blog

So this week we had a lovely (but blustery!) visit down at Carr Farm from fellow cattle farmer, designer and all round top lady Izzy Rainey – she wanted to feature the Belties in her “Over the Farm Gate” Blog….

It’s funny that whenever we get visitors wanting to photograph us with the belties that I always look such a mess …….luckily the belties make up for my shortcomings!😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Keep an eye on Izzi’s next blog when she will be drawing some of our belties who may feature in her 2019 designs….we will keep you posted!

Waveney Belted Galloway Herd “Runners up” in Midlands Regional Herd Competition!

Earlier in the year we were asked if we would like to participate in a Belted Galloway herd Competition for the Midlands Region – with the winner going through to a National Competition. It was a great experience lots of useful feedback on all our animals from an experienced Scottish judge.

At the regional group dinner in Derby on Friday 5th October the results were announced and we were thrilled to learn that our herd was overall regional runner up, as an added bonus our homebred Bull Waveney Harnser was joint runner up in the bull class and our homebred heifer Waveney Coshie was overall female runner up too!

….feeling so proud of our little “Beltie” gang!

End of Summer Aylsham Show with Belties

The summer show season draws to a close with the lovely Aylsham Show – our young dun Bull Waveney Harnser was Reserve Champion Bull in the Traditional Native Beef Breed Class and his dun half sister Waveney Coshie was Reserve Champion Female in the Native Breed Class with the pair of them taking a red ribbon in the Pairs Class – once again the sun shone and a lovely day was had by all!

Belties at the Royal Norfolk Show

Some of our herd of pedigree registered Belted Galloways again attended the Royal Norfolk Show – after last years rain it was lovely to get some sun. The beltie gang did well again with our heifer Red Zoe winning the junior heifer class and our young Beltie Bull Waveney Harnser coming second to his dad in the senior bull class and taking Reserve Male Champion and Reserve Norfolk Special prizes.

Belties at South Suffolk Show 2018

We had a great day with the Belties at the lovely South Suffolk Show – we took two of our 2017 heifers Delphi and Zoe, older heifer Waveney Coshie and our young bull Waveney Harnser. So two dun belties, one red and one black and white…the united colours of team Waveney Beltie!
